Feb 10- Boy run away after stealing $2 for mum's birthday gift

After reading this article, I was extremely shocked about this boy. I was wondering how can he survive in malaysia, an unfamiliar place to him with $350. It was also quite kind of the man to let the boy to stay at his place. Most people will think that it is an insensible act of him but think again, he was just scared that his parents will send him to boy's home for stealing $2. Once again, why did he steal that pathetic $2? His main motive is to buy a present for his mum because his mum's birthday was round the corner. All happen because of this virtue call filial. What really touched my heart was his letter that was left behind before he went off. He mentioned that he do not want his rest of his brothers to follow his footstep, this proved that he knew that he was wrong and felt ashamed about it. His mother also did not give up searching for her son. So in the end, the most heartwarming scence was the reunion of the mother and son as both embraced together. I believed that his mother would not be angry with her son and i think that everybody should forgive that little boy who is only 13 years old. I believe that everybody should deserve a second chance.

Feb 4- Girls make pact to slash themselves

There is a recent trend that girls are starting to do some foolish acts and to my amazement, the girls' age can start from as early as 12 years old. One of this foolish acts is taking a knife and slash their hands.I believe part of the reason is due to the senario of a girl using keys to slash her legs in a drama series at channel 8. I feel that this send out a message or can say that the viewers misread the message and follow that actress to do such a foolish act. However, the society should start to think why the younger generation is doing such a foolish thing, find out the root of the problem and solve it as quick as possible. I think that the gap between the parents and the children is getting bigger. What the children do the parent is not aware that is something quite serious as this prove that nowadays children are getting off the hands of parents. I think the government should promote the message of cherishing our body and frostering good bonding among family. School should also give counselling to these students as they might have stress that they are facing , thus doing these act. The friends should also discourage their friends who are attempting to do these foolish thing.
From this article, I learnt that in life, people should be strong and face their upcomin g challenge. Do not because of certain things and do such acts to our body. Remeber cherish our body, our body is innocent!

Burglar beat alarm in less than 30 sec

After i saw this article, i was amazed by the burglar as it is something near impossible to do it. Nowadays, singaporeans are relying on such alarm to protect them from burglar. If such thing can happen once, a second time might happen and thus it will defeat the purpose of having one at our place. I felt that Cisco should improvise on their alarm and hope that this will be the last time. The thief i believe might be a insider as he know how to break into the shop and even know what to pick because he only go for those goods but not the money in the shop. This really prove how meticulous is the burglar as knowing what to steal can save up to a lot of time. However, I believe the victim which is the shopkeeper suffered the most as they got to compensate all the private collectors and they had to even install a new alarm system. All this will cause them a bomb and it will be a big crisis in their business.

This article remind us that Singapore have not reach to the level of maximum peace as the crime in Singapore is still going on and everyone have a part to play in maintaing peace in Singapore. lastly, stay vigilant!

crime runs rampant in the "factory of the world"

this article is about the crime rate in China rising drastically. Robber are robbing in the open streets in broad daylight of Guangzhou, China. Reading this article realy make me feel astonished and horrified. I really cannot believe it if the article did not show me the whole process of how they rob a young lady. As China is going to host the upcoming olympic, this will surely affect their reputation as people from all over the world will be scared about the security in China. I also find that their implement on the punishment is quite harsh as they sentence one to death if he or she just make one mistake. If they did not attempt to kill the victim, I see no reason why they should not give the robber a chance. Instead the government should look into the root of this cause-the increase in crime rate. One effective way to deter crime will be to depoly more policemen to patrol the street regularly rather than staying in the station. The authorities should give the police officers more power to crack down on these robbers. They should keep a high alert and look out for suspicous characters. A better measure will be longer jail terms or fines to these first time offenders. What made this article newsworthy is that this serves to enlighten us about the different society situations in other countries. This remind us not to take the peace in Singapore for granted where he crime is relatively low and the people can be at ease; unlike the civilians in Guangzhou who lives in paranoid and kept on their toes everyday.
